Eudora is currently the king of the free
Macintosh email applications. It supports SMTP, POP and IMAP servers,
provides multiple mailboxes, offline reading and replying, supports
MIME, has balloon help, and is very reliable.
Paid and sponsored modes add many features, including a built-in spelling checker and more sophisticated message filtering.
