The Decode Shell Extension
v4.3 adds a Decode menu item to your Windows 95/98, NT 4.0, Win 2000 Explorer
context menu (right mouse button menu) and File menu. The extension will
then analyze the file and if it detects a UUENCODED, BinHex, XXE, Base64(MIME),
plain text or quoted- printable encoded file, it will prompt you if you
want to decode it (and tell you the file name). This is a GREAT utility
for dealing with downloads when using Agent, and the file will not open
properly, particularly in the case of Base64 encoded files.

PKZIP compresses files an
average of 50%-70%, with many large text and database files compressing
well over 90%. PKZIP for Windows also has the ability to create self-extracting
.exe files. Other features include the ability to create UUencoded files,
to span multiple disks when creating large .zip or .exe files, to run
a file from within PKZIP, to add files from multiple directories, to list
file support, and to choose from five levels of compression. Unzipping
capabilities include abilities to view and extract from TAR, GZIP, BinHex,
MIME, UUencoded and XXencoded files, to unzip by file size, date, name
or type, and automatically executing a 32-bit CRC.

| Stuffit Expander 7.5 Freeware |
Aladdin Expander gives Windows
users an easy way to expand most compressed or encoded files downloaded
from online services and the Internet. Aladdin Expander 7.0 gives users
access to all StuffIt (SIT) and ZIP compressed files. (StuffIt is the
standard compression utility for the Mac.) It will also expand files in
UUencoded (UUE), BinHex (HQX), and MacBinary (BIN) formats, and other
archives such as ARC, ARJ, and GZ. Version 5.0 expands StuffIt 5.x archives
(SIT), including self-extracting archives (SEA), and it decodes MacBinary
III encoded files--the new format utilized by Mac OS 8.5. It offers Unicode
support, which is helpful for cross-platform, multilingual file access.
Expander can now open ARC compressed files that contain hierarchical folders.

WinRAR is a Windows version
of the popular RAR compression format. RAR offers significantly improved
compression ratios, easier to use, for functions such as supporting long
file names, disk spanning and self-extracting file creation. WinRAR supports
the zip compression format for those already having .zip files.

| WinZIP 8.1 Shareware |
WinZip 8.0 includes significant
enhancements for all WinZip users, whether novice or advanced. The new
Zip and E-Mail feature zips a document and attaches it to an e-mail message
without leaving Explorer. The greatly enhanced Wizard can now create and
update Zip files, as well as extract and install from MIME and similar
encoded files (great for e-mail attachments). Improvements to the WinZip
Classic interface make it more Windows-like than ever; for example, an
optional Explorer-style toolbar is available, and, when creating or updating
an archive, WinZip automatically stores the same subfolders and folder
information that Windows Explorer would use for a similar copy operation.
